You see that girl on the right? Yes, the one with her boobs popping out, holding a drink, keeping her dress from flying up, with her hair in her face, all while failing to look "Instagram worthy." You guessed it folks, that's me.
Have I always been like this? You betcha. Growing up in a small town in northern Minnesota, I wasn't always the most graceful gal. In short, I was the awkward too tall, hair slicked back, gaucho pants wearing one. It took me a very long time to realize that was okay. After hitting puberty in 9th grade my story really becomes that of any other teenage girl and the rest of my childhood is history.
When I turned 18, I couldn't wait to get out of my small town. So, I did just that. I went to the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated with a degree in Criminology only 3 1/2 years later. I thought I wanted to go to law school, but a DUI and a trip to Florida later (no I did NOT get arrested IN Florida who do you think I am) changed my perspective on life completely.
Fast forward to 2020. I had just moved to Tennessee from Florida where I had only lived for just a year and a half. The world felt like it was ending and now we are all just trying to pick up the pieces one step at a time. From Richards (how else do you politely refer to someone who is a dick without facing some phallic consequences on the internet!?) to pandemics to sitting on the couch, we'll discuss it all.
I don't have a super dark story to dive into (I hope I never do) and if that is what you are looking for here, then you're in the wrong place. Like many of you, I am pretty average. However, I was lucky enough to grow up in a very loving family and because of that I felt very free to explore who I was and wanted to be. And guess what, I am still exploring...
That's where all of you come in. Together, let's dive into the mundane and the extraordinary until we understand the world we live in and how it makes us who we are. And if we never truly understand, then I guess you'll just continue to hear me try.
If you really want to get involved, please send me a message! I am open to thoughts, reactions, suggestions, advice, and friends...let's be friends.
